Ranbir’s Transformation In Rockstar

Bollywood’s youth icon, the much hyped superstar of tomorrow Ranbir Kapoor has ones again proved that scientists are right when they quote Genetic variations is essence of human life. Yes, the grand nephew of Legendary Yahoo! Shammi Kapoor has achieved in Rockstar a benchmark that seems like impossible in 4 years and 9 films. Looks like he inherited acting talents, seems like absorbing expressions are in his genes, and one feels like he is a born performer.

Rockstar is all worth watching because it has Ranbir Kapoor with an image of heartbreak soul, unshaved, anxious, rebellious, long-haired music phenomenon, with an uncharacteristic wardrobe. Rockstar a movie for Ranbir’s fan, well wishers, and love birds….

Overview of Rockstar

Ones again Imtiaz Ali brings an old wine in a new bottle. This time it’s called Rockstar revolving around an adolescent Haryanvi boy Janardhan Jakhar’s fantasy of attaining legendary status of being a Rockstar like his idol Jim Morrison.

Rockstar movie review is a dreamy out of realism concept. Ranbir aka Janardhan Jakhar’s journey from his bonding with Nargis Fakhri aka Heer the college hottie, to their audacious amusements, playful songs, rib tickling humor, and tragic events makes up the climax of the movie. The first half is amazing whereas the second half fails to live up to the expectation.

Conclusion is it’s a onetime watch of passionate love story between two youthful, fun loving, and adventurous souls. From foot taping music, to Ranbir’s rocking performance, the story of a gifted artist’s rise from scratch to riches, unfading fame, sells his soul to addiction, leads to self destruction and all because the girl he loves marries a N.R.I to left him with a broken heart. Rest is Rockstar……….

Star Performers

Ranbir Kapoor & A.R. Rahman: – If there’s something to watch in movie Rockstar then its Ranbir’s flawless acting and musical maestro A.R. Rahman’s soul stirring musical compositions. It’s a famous saying that one is called smart if he works with people who are smarter than him and director Imtiaz Ali just followed it the perfect way. Half the battle was won by Imtiaz by having both Ranbir & Oscar winner Rahman for the movie.

Tribute to Shammi Kapoor

Alas! Legendary show man “Shammi Kapoor”, popularly known as Elvis Presley of India made his last appearance before his death due to renal failure. Pay last time to tribute the great entertainer of the century.

New Face Nargis Fakhri

She has been promising and looked gorgeous. Her beauty will give her million fans following, but in terms of acting she needs a real polishing.

Why to Watch?

Imtiaz Ali’s brilliant romantic tale, good performances from Ranbir, A.R. Rahman’ s melodious compositions, good chemistry between Ranbir & Nargis, and full entertaining movie devoid of realism.

Why not to watch?

Second half is stagnant, fails to link the story line with the impressive first part, is fails to portray a musician’s anguish, same old romantic tale say a reloaded version of Dev D or Devdas.

Overall Verdict: – One time watch, a must for all Ranbir Kapoor fans, brilliant performance by Ranbir, A.R. Rahman at its musical best, and eye candy Nargis debut starrer.
